How I 3x’d revenue in just 6 months for our agency
6 things we added to make more revenue quickly
Most agencies are running old business models that are killing their revenue.
I 3x’d my revenue by doing these 6 things that I am going to breakdown below.
I’m Nick Avaria, agency owner, and founder of Agency Acquisitions. Are we connected on LinkedIn? I share daily tips, insights, and case studies from consulting over 100 agencies. Shoot me over a request to get connected.
Harsh truth: Marketing and sales efforts generate a lot of leads you don't want. Clients who are not ready to work at your full agency pricing model, or are just not yet ready to invest in your 1:1 services.
By monetizing what would otherwise be “waste” we can charge more for our core/current DFY (Done For You) service.
Why? Because when we can sell something to these leads we would otherwise not monetize at all, we can then re-funnel it into more sales and marketing initiatives and remain profitable.
When revenue stagnates or decreases agencies start breaking their own rules about minimum revenue/price amounts for their flagship services. Don’t do that.
Instead, focus on one of these initiatives to keep your agency profitable.
The more of these you have in place the more you will be able to charge:
1) Add consulting as a DWY (Done With You) service - Charge 1.5 to 2x more per hour than your current target hourly rate. This lets clients get a taste of working with you before upselling or committing to a monthly retainer.
2) Add a DIY (Do It Yourself) service - take your internal training and edit it to make it externally facing then sell it.
3) Take your internal templates, package them, and sell them for under $200 - Bonus points if these products have affiliate links for additional revenue. These can live in the footers of your emails and on your website to create passive income.
4) Creation of a risk-free one-time service - this lets people dip their toe in with you.
6) Referrals & Partnerships - Find a group of agencies that don’t overlap in your service offering. Send them referrals for a % in return. If you send them 2-3 referrals and they have sent you back zero, get another referral partner that does the same thing that will send you business in return.
BONUS:
7) Increase Client Lifetime Value (LTV) by using a combination of Journey models and Onboarding that included Education, Experience, and Expectation-setting elements - This was THE biggest game-changer.
